Xamarin Apps Using List View and Diagram Webinar

On July 19, 2018, Syncfusion hosted a webinar to demonstrate how to use our list view and diagram controls to build first-class Xamarin apps. If you were unable to attend the webinar, you can catch up by watching the recording on YouTube. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to answer all the questions we received during the session, but we have selected a number of them to answer here.

Q: Where can I gain access to previous webinars? I was not able to register for the previous list view session.

A: You can find a list of webinar-related posts on the Syncfusion blog: https://blog.syncfusion.com/search.aspx?q=webinar. You can also find recordings of our earlier webinars on the Syncfusion YouTube page.

Q: Can we make a user control with text and images?

A: Yes, we can! You can check out segment control, too: https://help.syncfusion.com/xamarin/sfsegmentedcontrol/display-mode#image-with-text

Q: Is there a webinar for the image editor?

A: No, we haven’t done a webinar for the image editor, but we will take note of this for a possible future webinar.

Q: When will a document editor capable of editing Word docs be available for Xamarin.Forms?

A: We don’t yet have a document editor on the roadmap for Xamarin.Forms. You can see our public roadmap to stay up-to-date on upcoming releases: https://www.syncfusion.com/products/roadmap/xamarin-forms.

Q: How about polylines or routes?

A: At this time, the maps control does not support navigation lines. However, our maps control found in Essential JS 2 is capable of polylines or routes.

Q: Do you have any controls that are equivalent to border controls in WPF?

A: Our new segmented control provides similar customizations: https://help.syncfusion.com/xamarin/segmented-control/overview.

Q: Does the list view drag-and-drop persist between sessions, or does it need to be stored locally?

A: It will automatically update the collection. You can learn more about this feature here: https://help.syncfusion.com/xamarin/listview/item-drag-and-drop#reorder-the-underlying-collection.

Q: Are you working on map controls similar to Google Maps?

A: Check out this blog post to learn more about our maps control: https://blog.syncfusion.com/post/rendering-openstreetmap-and-bing-maps-in-essential-js-2-maps-control.aspx.

Q: Can we draw custom pin points such as circles?

A: Yes, we can add markers.
